In ancient China, discomfort or pain in the joints was often thought to be caused by poor circulation or energy blockages. Pain was associated with and described as weather-like conditions such as Wind, Damp, or Cold. Pain that changed location or seemed to wander the body was called a "Wind Blockage". Persons who could sense changes in weather because of achy joints had Damp or Cold in the joints. Hot or inflamed joints were said to have Heat in them.

Early herbalists recognized that certain herbs countered these symptoms. Through skillful observation and clinical experience, formulas and treatment methods were developed and recorded. This knowledge was passed on through generations of medical practitioners.

Dr. LaMar's Tung Sheuh is formulated to take advantage of age old herbal knowledge to improve circulation in the body. The words Tung Sheuh translate as circulate the blood. In terms of Oriental medicine, these herbs disperse the energy and blood blockages which cause muscle and joint discomfort.
